Birmingham has had a Women's Hospital for over 125 years. It's sixth and current hospital site was opened in 1968 in Edgbaston sharing the Queen Elizabeth Hospital site. Unlike the Queen Elizabeth Hospital which has been totally rebuilt and becomes fully functional in 2012, the Women's Hospital is to remain an existing facility.
